Selecting the right board size:
To calculate the width of the magnetic knife rack:
- Lay your knives out on a flat surface.
- Place a 1cm gap between each knife blade.
- split the number of knives in half.
- Measure across each of the laid-out knives from the widest point of the blades. (Usually just under where the handle meets the blade).
- Add an extra centimeter to each knife grouping for your measurement. This will provide you with the overall width needed for the rack.
To calculate the height of the magnetic knife rack:
- Choose the longest knife.
- Measure from the tip of the metal blade to where the handle starts on the blade.
- This will provide the overall height needed for your board

How To Maintain Your Magnetic Knife Board
These racks are probably one of the easiest items to maintain, given they are used mostly to store and access your clean knives. For the best results and to prolong the life of the wood, clean the surface with warm water and a soft washcloth or sponge as needed. Before returning a knife to the rack also make sure the knife is clean and dry.
Avoid cleaning the wooden surface with any detergents or rough scouring pads.
